"NO BAKE" MOLDING |
 |
|
The “No Bake” method uses the chemical agents mixed in the sand to produce the mold or the core. Some “No Bake” systems use the chemical reaction, other demand gas or heat to complete the cure. Recently, the “No Bake” processes with furan, phenolic, urethane and alkaline-phenolic resins have been being used in the molding. The sand, mixed with the chemical agents, in a continuous mixer, is placed in the molding flask until it is completely covered. After the cure, the pattern is stripped out and join both parts of the flask (cope and drag), enabling the metal pouring. After the cooling, the casting is removed from the mold in the shakeout. The sand used in the mold is then broken, passing by the reclaimer, where the resin and the fine are removed, being ready to be used again
