INTRODUCTION – GREEN SAND EQUIPMENT |
 |
In 1934, Sintokogio Ltd., of Japan, started its activities in the foundry industry, producing the first molding equipment in green sand. Along the years SINTO acquired vast experience, which is continually applied on the development of new techniques and technologies in this sector. This emphasis in the research and creation resulted in the development of two main molding techniques:
SEIATSU Process and Flaskless Molding.
SEIATSU
is a flask molding process, introduced in 1979, and since then, has been one of the most used molding processes in the world. The SEIATSU process combines the airflow, the ventilation and squeeze to produce consistent and resistant molds, resulting in production of better quality castings in all aspects. The complementary effect of airflow and squeeze provokes a reduction in the mold deformation during pouring, thus keeping a high dimensional precision of the casted part.
In the Flaskless Molding technique
in green sand, the flask used in the mold preparation makes part of the own molding machine, Thus, the individual flask for each mold becomes unnecessary, turning that kind of equipment more economic.
In this type of flaskless molding the sand is separated in the molding chamber and, then, is squeezed. The cope and drag sections of the flask are separated, the pattern plate is removed and these two sections are again put together. Then, the mold is extracted from the internal flask and placed on the transportation line for the pouring process.
SINTO manufactures two basic types of flaskless molding machines:
FBO Vertical blow and FBM top and bottom blow..
