Sintokogio Ltd., Japan, is the pioneer in airflow molding technology. The SEIATSU process was developed and introduced by SINTO in 1979, and since its introduction the SEIATSU molding machines became the equipment most used all over the world! Currently, the SEIATSU molding machines are used daily in more than 320 production lines in 30 countries, producing molds of high quality in several types of castings.
The SEIATSU process is basically characterized for three effects that represent significant advantages on other molding processes:
-
Airflow effect
-
Pattern plate venting effect
-
Squeeze effect
The perfect combination of these three effects: Airflow, aerating and squeeze, offer the production of high quality.
The “Seiatsu”, airflow and squeeze process, dominates today 60% of the world market with flask, due to its superiority in the molding method.
The airflow process produces a uniform mold that requires less core, eliminates enlargement and produce the casting next to the finished product, reduces the casting weight and offers an enormous reduction on the machining cost.
The process starts with the flask under the tank of sand (see illustration), where the sand is filled by the gravity. The sand is measured in order to assure the suitable quantity that is fed in the flask.
The flask is removed downwards the air tank, where it opens the valve and there is airflow by the sand and pattern plate, leaving by the vent orifices located in the pattern plate.
Soon after, there is the squeeze process through the segmented cylinders that ensure the homogeneous hardness of the mold. The pattern plate is removed and the next flask is introduced, giving sequence to cycle.
The combination of the characteristics of the airflow, vent orifice and segmented squeeze ensure the multiplier effect, creating the uniform mold that cannot be obtained in any other method.
The SINTO Group is the biggest foundry equipment producer, with 76 operation points in the world. The companies of the SINTO Group can supply all the foundry needs, since sand preparation, molding, mold handling, cores, casting finishing, environmental equipment along the project planning and of installation.
